Vanilla Catering & Events

Christmas with Vanilla and Wedding Planning Seminars

October, already. The wedding season is drawing to a close and our thoughts are turning to Christmas parties but before I leave weddings I must talk about September

September has been the busiest month Vanilla have ever had with weddings. A few of the stunning venues we have catered in include The Hamptworth Estate, Hill Place Houghton Lodge, Duncton Mill, Tithe Barn, Farbridge Barn, Old Arelsford house, and Chawton House.

However, not only have we been busy with Weddings we have had corporate banquets at Winchester Guildhall, The Sea city Museum and The Royal Armouries so busy is not only the name of my bride yesterday (congratulations to the lovely new Mrs Abbie Bizzey ) but it applies to the Vanilla crew.

What a fantastic Summer we have had. event management is a wonderful profession, it may be long unsociable hours but this year we have had a blast . My amazing team have coped with all sorts of weather dilemmas, vans stuck in mud, torrential rain and they have all triumphed and smiled throughout. I have  to attach a picture of probably the worst mud and mayhem day we had, next year Vanilla wellies will be part of the  uniform, that’s bound to mean we have a long hot summer.

The thankyou letters have flooded in, I won’t post anymore here but have a look at our testimonials page where our lovely clients say  lovely things about us……

Back at Vanilla HQ thoughts are turning to our new menus. Lee and his team will spend the next month, trying testing and eating their way through Hampshire ingredients to launch a new menu mid November. Our photographer Al will come done from the big smoke to take pictures of the new dishes so we will be updating the website before Xmas. Remember all our menus are flexible and we are happy to devise a bespoke menu for you at no extra cost

Wedding Fever is gearing up internally with Gills big day to Martyn happening mid month. Of course the A team will be on hand to ensure a marvelous day is had by all and we will all get to party too, Lee has devised a wonderful trio of cherry desserts especially for the happy couple

I am leaving my beloved business and bicycle behind and heading offshore for a couple of weeks sailing to Faro, Maderia  and onto the Canaries, lots of night sailing giving me time to think of new adventures for myself and the Vanilla team.

Talking of which in the spring I will be holding a series of wedding planning seminars. If you want to sign up for these drop me an email. The dates will be published shortly but the half day will include top tips on the prefect wedding including choosing the right location, time planning, choosing suppliers and most importantly how to make  your day run  to time and budget ,you may even get to sample some Vanilla produce.

So now our thoughts turn to Xmas partying. We still have a few free dates so if you haven’t booked your party do call us and we can advise you on the venues we work in and send over some tempting menus.

Pick up a copy of this month’s Your Hampshire and Dorset wedding and you will see an article about us catering at the Tithe Barn in Petersfield wonderful pictures produced by our lovely photographer Alan Williams . This year If you book with us you are helping our Charity for 2012/3. facing the world ( Every wedding or party you book with us for a three course sit down we will donate 20p to our charity. Have a look at their website, everyone deserves the right to smile on their wedding day and Facing the World carry out amazing work helping children with severe disfigurements so that one day they too can do just that.

Have a good month for latest news, gossip and information follow us on twitter or face book, we have some great photos on face book of recent weddings , the team grooving on down in the cook tent and of course some of our lovely clients
