Festive Thermals and a Happy New Year

Well it’s almost here, and we are still working away at Vanilla.

This weekend we are still busy with Xmas parties and weddings , Good look to Tamsin and Stuart, tying the knot at the Tithe Barn in Ditcham on Saturday.

All very exciting in that we have a wedding on New Years Eve this year. Francine and Rhys are having a big bash in a marquee in the New Forest, fingers crossed for good weather. I have purchased new thermals for New Years Eve this year which is slightly different from previous years, actually not that different, I once spent New Year in a snow hole in the Cairngorms on a survival course (mad …yep !) then 2 years in Courcheval so in fact I have had plenty training. Francine and Rhys have however have picked a wonderful menu which I will share with you shortly so whatever the weather that will keep us all warm, (along with my  thermals)

Back at Vanilla HQ, we all managed to have our own Xmas party, as you can imagine we are all very critical when we go out as we expect the high standards that we produce ourselves. However we had a great time and we all had sore heads the day after, don’t worry we were very sensible and went on a Monday night ,so we had time to recover before prepping for our weekend functions.

A new van was added to the fleet this week, Big Bernie is now proudly sitting along with the fleet in anticipation of a busy 2013.

Other news is Peaches finally popped and baby Alia was delivered last Saturday after 39 hours in labour, nearly as long as a weekend shift at Vanilla but not quite. You can see a picky of the lovely little Vanilla baby on the face book page.

Emily continues to wear her Xmas jumper in the office…… roll on the New Year. The chefs continue to keep the Mother Dough alive baking fresh bread every day for our lunches, today we had naan bread it was absolutely the best I have ever tasted.

It’s the Tithe Barn open day on Saturday 26th January ,please come along, meet the team, sample some of our produce and talk  about your big day with us

We will be also be running workshops in the Spring on how to create your own delicious Hampshire canapes. Using Hampshire produce the team of Vanilla’s professional chefs will demonstrate how to cook canapés such as Laverstoke Mozzarella & Spinach Mille Feuille on Jerusalem Artichoke Mousse. This is an active workshop so you will get you chance to try your hand at these dishes and take away your creations to impress your family and friends.

We will also be running  wedding planning seminars in the New Year here at our HQ in Swanwick and at some of the venues we work at. These seminars will cover everything from time planning, table plans, the prefect wedding breakfast, alcohol quantities suggested plays list for your DJ, you name it we cover it, after all we have been doing this for many years so have hundreds of weddings behind us. We appreciate every wedding is different, from planning a wedding in a tree house, a barn or a farmers field we can tell you how to do it and what to avoid. For more information and dates on these seminars please call us direct.

Don’t forget If you book your wedding or banquet with us you are helping our Charity for 2012/3. facing the world ( Every wedding or party you book with us for a three course sit down we will donate 20p to our charity. Have a look at their website, everyone deserves the right to smile on their wedding day and Facing the World carry out amazing work helping children with severe disfigurements so that one day they too can do just that.
