New Year, New Menus

Half way through January already. Hopefully you all had a great Xmas and New Year

Our last wedding of the season on New Years Eve was a very muddy affair. Francine and Rhys were married in the New Forest. It rained, rained and then it rained, but nothing could dampen the spirits of the guests or the Vanilla team. Did it matter we were knee deep in mud ?  did it matter the vans were stuck ?, did it matter the cook tent lights failed ? no because as true professionals we soldiered on and Matt and Joe produced a wonderful meal in very difficult conditions. It did matter when they got home though and their wives wanted to know how they had got mud in their ears….try explaining that one.

Snow chains are wonderful things, and thankfully Kit had ordered some and also knew how to put them on the vans, without these we would never have made it on and off site, so thanks to Skiamis for the wonderful training you gave him when he worked in the Alps. ( See attcahed piccy) 

A New Year and new menus our glossy brochure is now available on line from our website. Don’t forget you do not have to pick from this you can go bespoke as all our dishes are hand made so anything is possible.

Back at Vanilla HQ the tasting season is upon us, we are jam packed with happy couples trying out our delicious menus. Every client who books with us will get a complimentary tasting so they get to see exactly what they will eat on the day itself.

We have our first wedding of 2013 next week. Sam and Graham have a multichoice meal including, Scallops, Guinea fowl, Venison, and a trio of naughty desserts, No chance of dieting at vanilla.

Emily continues to amaze us offering to wash the vans then picking a bucket with a hole in …….stick to managing the events Emily please !

We are busy expanding our kitchen in preparation for our busiest year to date, lots of new equipment arriving daily. Joe can’t stop using the new thermomix, all getting very technical in the  kitchen these days.

We will be at the Tithe Barn open day on Saturday 26, if you are thinking of booking this venue then do come along and have a chat with the barn staff and meet the Vanilla team, we will l have lost of samples available for you taste.

I have signed up for the Great North Open Swim, 5k across lake Windermere, training has been stepped up and am now up to 2.4 km in a hour but must speed up, next step is the wet suit and open water. not a pretty sight especially after all that gorging on our new menus, check out my fund raising page www.virginmoneygiving.com/sallypickles

Have a look at their website, everyone deserves the right to smile on their wedding day and Facing the World carry out amazing work helping children with severe disfigurements so that one day they too can do just that.
