Royal Canapes and Fabulous Customer Service

The sun is here, the barbecues are sparked up and the weddings continue.

The last month we have not stopped, it has been our busiest month ever ! We have catered and managed weddings, corporate dinners, canapé parties, birthday parties and even mixed with Royalty

We were extremely privileged to cater for a canapé party at the New Mary Rose Museum where the VIP guest was the Princess Royal. The Vanilla chefs devised some bespoke Tudor canapes for this prestigious event, the guests drank bubbly from Danebury Vineyard and the temperatures soared. The Mary Rose really is a specular museum. If you have not visited yet I highly recommend it and guess what its air conditioned !

The Vanilla team dressed in their finery and we attended the South Coast Business Awards presentation night. We were shortlisted for the RSM Tenon Award for customer service, we didn’t win but we come a close second, however we were the only caterer to make the final four so we were pretty pleased with this.

It is currently Hampshire Fare month, Joe had two nights of our Fantastic Fish demonstrations where he proudly showed off his amazing skills with fish proving that yes indeed you do need to be an expert as there is no way I could cook like that, he also proved that men really can multi task, maybe he should give my husband a lesson here !

We have had heaps of thank you letters for all the events we have done and below are a few of my favorites, it is always wonderful to get glowing testimonials

A huge thank you for all you did to make the Summer Supper such a success last Thursday. “Bangers and Mash in the Barn” was inspirational.  Jacob Rees Mogg commented on seeing the menu “how wonderful – something simple for a change”.  So many people commented on the quality of both the sausages and the mash and the summer pudding was the best I have ever had.  Thank you for all of that but I would like to make a special mention of you staff.  I have been running these kind of events for 14 years now and in all that time I have never been served and looked after by such efficient, charming and positively wilco staff.  They were a real joy to work with.  It was a great evening – thank you Sally, so much for your enormous contribution to that success.

I’m delighted to report that the Vanilla team so ably led by Kit Johnson on board HMS Victory last evening received rave reviews by Friends of the Scott Polar Research Institute and their guests. The food was quite outstanding and, as a veteran of many dinners on Victory, I speak as something of an expert. Your efforts and those of your most professional team assured that we enjoyed a night to remember and one that will be difficult to surpass. Thank you very much indeed for your efforts and support – the Friends will certainly use your services in the future.

On behalf of the GE employees who organised the annual Engineering Recognition day on the 13th June in Winchester Guildhall, I would like to thank you for contributing to making our day special.  We received really positive feedback from our colleagues who really enjoyed the lunch.  As organisers we not only enjoyed the delicious food but also the smooth running of the service.  As a French man who really enjoys his food, I want to say a big “Merci” to you and your staff.

Thank you very much indeed for the outstanding quality of food and service that you and your staff delivered to all the guests at the Royal London Yacht Club Dinner on HMS Victory last Saturday evening. The comments have been universally complementary about the quality and presentation of the meal, and about the care taken to ensure that those with special dietary requirements were specially catered for.  It was an outstanding success and I am really very grateful to you.  I shall not hesitate to recommend you to any organisation looking for a similar service.

A Massive thanks to you and the whole Vanilla team for looking after us so well at our wedding at the New Forest Outdoor Centre. You were all so helpful from the first time we met you and everything on the day seemed to go just perfectly – usually a sign that somebody’s working very hard behind the scenes.  The food looked and tasted sensational, everybody loved it and we though every bit of it was just as good as the taster session.  Sarah and I felt you were the safest pair of hands we had involved in all our wedding planning.

We just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the hard work you put into making our wedding day at the Tithe Barn absolutely perfect.  We can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work not only on the day but before the day as well.  We really did have a perfect day and the service that you and all your staff gave was amazing.  The food was amazing and everyone commented on how it was the best food that they had ever had at a wedding.  It was not only beautifully presented but it tasted amazing as well.  Your attention to detail was brilliant and thank you for catering for all the people who had specific dietary requirements.  I know they really appreciated it and it certainly made them feel that they had been taken care of.  Thank you also for setting up the barn so beautifully.  It looked amazing and we were absolutely delighted with everything you did.  We couldn’t have asked for more from you guys.  You did everything so perfectly and it was a massive weight off our minds knowing that you were looking after our day

Back at HQ Little Joes wedding is only 3 weeks away, why on earth did I agreed he could have a Saturday off in August , oh well too late now, unfortunately none of us can go as we are all working ,

I went to Windereme to compete in the Great North Swim, if you want to see how a middle aged woman looks like in a wet suit all will be revealed on channel 4 later in the year. Many thanks to all the people who sponsored me , Loch Lomond next……

The battle of the fatties continues however progress is slow, VERY slow !
