Vanilla Catering & Events

Busy Autumn ahead, Ski Vanilla !

Well where to start, Vanilla have had a fantastically busy summer with weddings, corporate events, parties, outdoor sporting events  including yacht catering at Cowes week and the Southampton Boat show. We have not stopped the Kitchen has been in full swing, the smoker has been smoking, the thermomix blending, and the chefs once again have a portfolio of thank you letters from you, our happy clients, these are all available to view here on the website.
Our list of venues is ever increasing, one of our most quirky venues this year has been Tree Tops in Bealieu. This really is a stunning venue in the Forest, two tree houses joined together by a rope bridge, makes service a little challenging but nothing we cannot cope with. Katie and Dom, had a three course multichoice sit down here in Spetember and it was a triumph proving that nothing is impossible.
We can cater anywhere from the historic Winchester Guildhall, to the beautiful barns such as Tithe barn and Farbridge, wonderful houses such as Hill Place and Hamptworth to your own space in Marquees.
Our team is expanding again ready for an extremely busy Autumn . We welcome Angus Dunlop to our team of chefs, Angus worked for us over the summer and we are pleased he has decided to joint us on a permanent basis. Angus previously worked at Goodwood House, which is where Lee, our head chef came from, so another talented addition to our chefs brigade. We also welcome  Helen Beak as one of our new Event Managers, Helen has previously worked at Lainston House hotel, she is looking forward to been introduced to the world of event catering, before you know it she will be in a muddy field with wellies on setting up a large event. Sadly we also said goodbye to our lovely Emily, otherwise known as Miss Perfect,  Emily plans to travel so after working with vanilla for over three years she has headed off, hopefully soon to be in warmer climates.
Our new menus for 2014 are in the development stage, and will be revealed early December. Another photo shoot is planned, it is always great when we have Alan Williams our professional photographer down from London, we like to show him how we do things down here,  which usually means visiting  various hostelries  in Hampshire in between photographing our delicious food.
Exciting news is one of our bespoke creations will be published in the New Hampshire cookbook. I will let you know when and where you can buy this book, all proceeds for which will go to the Princes Trust. The Hampshire Cookbook – A Culinary Journey Through Hampshire’  will be published to celebrate the local produce and culinary diversity that our county has to offer. All profits will go to the charity.
Whilst we are on the subject of charities, don't forget If you book your wedding or banquet with us you are also helping our Charity of the year. Every wedding or party booked with us for a three course sit down we donate 20 p head to the charity, this year it is the wedding wishing
www.weddingwishingwell.org.uk. That's not the only charity giving we do though, from making cakes for help the Heroes sale in Winchester, supplying hampers to be raffled, and making gingerbread toes for Toe  in the water,  then of course there was the Great North swim all filmed by Chanel four.....
We are also teaming up with a well known ski company and producing menus for them, so soon you will be able to sample Vanillas creations overseas.  Lee and his team are currently working on these menus and when finalised we will have the onerous task of flying out there to train the team how to produce these dishes, it's a tough job but someone has you do it. When all this is finalised I will upload details of the ski company we are working with and the holidays they have available, and of course the menu.
There is still time to book your Xmas party with us, we can cater anywhere you wish and we are also holding party nights at Winchester Guildhall.
