Vanilla Catering & Events

Zulu Dancers, Beef Wellington and Good Luck to Li and Gill

We have had a very busy week catering for four weddings this week each one very different.

Congratulations to Louise and Georgios, Sharyn and Mark, Samantha and Luke, and Lizzie and Paul who all celebrated their marriages this week.

Once again  we were at the Tithe Barn in Ditcham, this was the venue for Sharyn and Mark. A great day was had by all, the sun made a rare appearance. Zulu dancers performed for the guests and an absolutely amazing feast was prepared. The champagne risotto made for a delicious starter served on a flat mushroom. Dan, our chef, did a Stirling job of preparing a wonderful beef wellington as the main course served with a béarnaise sauce.

It did not end there with a hog roast served later in the evening all washed down with South African Savannah Cider !

As an aside did you know ?

The Zulu (Zulu: amaZulu) are the largest South African ethnic group of an estimated 10–11 million people who live mainly in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Small numbers also live in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mozambique. Their language, Zulu, is a Bantu language; more specifically, part of the Nguni subgroup. The Zulu Kingdom played a major role in South African history during the 19th and 20th centuries. Under apartheid, Zulu people were classed as third-class citizens and suffered from state-sanctioned discrimination. They remain today the most numerous ethnic group in South Africa, and now have equal rights along with all other citizens.

Louise and Georgios had a midweek wedding at Winlsowe House, West End Southampton, and Sam and Luke, who were married in Florida a couple  of weeks ago had a party for family and friends at the same venue. Lizzie and Paul held their reception in Hamble.

This week we cater for the marriages of Mike and Jen and Henry and Elena.

The Vanilla team also wish our very best to our head chef Limor who marries Gill in Israel this week. We hope they have a great day it’s a shame we cannot all be there. I will  upload photographs of the happy couple next week, it will be great to catch a  rare glimpse of the lovely Li  out of her chefs white for  a change  ……….

Don’t forget that for every wedding we cater for, we donate 20p per head to our nominated charity Frank Water. So the more guests you invite to your wedding the more money we donate!
