Trafalgar Park and the New Guildhall Kitchens !

Autumn is upon us but the weddings are still in full flow. Last weekend we had the  privilege of catering for Caroline and Matthews wedding at Trafalgar Park (www.trafalgarpark.com) this is a wonderful venue near Salisbury with views of the  rolling countryside and the river Avon

As an aside did you know ?

Trafalgar Park was originally known as Standlynch Park when it was built for Sir Peter Vandeput in 1733 to designs by John James of Greenwich. In 1766 the wings were added to the house by John Wood the Younger of Bath thereby creating a substantial residence with additional works
by Nicholas Revett.

The house was renamed "Trafalgar" when the estate was acquired by Act of Parliament and given to the brother of Admiral Nelson after his death in 1805 to commemorate the great battle and as a lasting tribute to his heirs. Successive Earl Nelsons lived at Trafalgar Park until 1948 when the estate was sold.

The house and parkland have now been transferred to the Trafalgar Park Trust which is restoring and regenerating these impressive Grade 1 buildings, whilst also serving as a private home.

We were also at the Tithe barn two days in a row for the weddings  of Sue and paul and Lisa and matt. Lisa has now sadly changed her name from Bird to Stredwick !

As approved caterers at the Winchester Guildhall we had a sneaky preview of their fantastic new facilities this week. The refurbishment has been very tastefully done and we were very impressed with the new kitchens, soon we will be cooking up all sort of wonderful creations for the many events we are catering for there including the Mayors Christmas ball.

We also welcome on board Lee as our new head chef this week. Lee was previously head chef at Goodwood House, West Sussex so expect to see a new exciting revamped menu in the spring with some of his signature dishes.

The bookings are flying in for Christmas, if you need any advice on any of the venues we work or would like a quote please contact me

This weekend we are at the Tithe barn again to see Helen and Steve, celebrate their big day, Caroline and  Ruben tie the knot at Grittenham Barn where we cannot wait to see the resident donkeys dressed in all their finery,  and Rosie and Nick are holding their reception at Upwaltham barn near Chichester.

I will report back next week with all the details of these events

Don’t forget that for every wedding we cater for, we donate 20p per head to our nominated charity Frank Water (www.frankwater.com)  So the more guests you invite to your wedding the more money we donate. Every Pound raised for Frank Water Projects gives one person access to clean water for life, by the end of the year  this should equate to a lot of people.

Have a good week
