Gearing up for a busy weekend !

It’s all very busy in the kitchen today as we wind ourselves up for one of the busiest weekends of the year.

Tomorrow we are at the Tithe Barn to see Paul and Ruth celebrate their big day with a multi choice menu,

Tomorrow evening aslo sees the team at Fort Nelson for the opening of the redeveloped Armouries Museum. We are cooking up a fantastic range of canapes all sourced from local producers. Gun firing will announce the start of the party and The Rat Pack Boys will get the guests in the mood along with some local beer from the Bowman’s Brewery, Droxford. 

Saturday sees us very busy and the wedding I am running I  am so excited about. Jenny and Phil are having a blessing which is to be held at The Cass Sculpture centre on the Goodwood estate. This really is a unique venue in which to hold your big day.

The Cass Sculpture Foundation :

Conceived 18 years ago, the Foundation is a philanthropic project, which helps to ensure that British Sculpture continues to build upon its successful history by creating and displaying ambitious new works by contemporary British sculptors such as Edward Allington, James Capper, Tony Cragg, Stephen Cox, Antony Gormley, Bryan Kneale, Phillip King, Bill Woodrow and many more.

The Foundation has an ever-changing display of 80 new monumental contemporary sculptures on its grounds in West Sussex, England, displayed over 26 acres. The sculptures on display are sold throughout the world, with proceeds directly going to artists.

Check out our face book pages for photos of the big day, which involves afternoon tea, a three course sit down, the bespoke Vanilla bar which will be erected outside  and will be a rival to any of the exhibits there, ( this was actually made by our very own Director Kit …….he loves a good project !)

Well it’s Sunday evening and I can’t believe it’s all over.  What a fabulous successful day we had. I have to say that Vanilla truly pulled off a totally professional organised event and exceeded all expectations. You and your team were a knock out .... and that’s before we get to the food.  Soooo many people have commented on the coconut ice cream, some amazing comments there.  The lamb was tender and cooked to perfection so many thanks to the chef.  The red onion marmalade tasted good and the presentation of the starter was an indication of what else was to follow.  Somehow a few sentences dont seem enough to sum up all  the food, it really was great.  Many other points too .. we (and other guests too) noticed the attentive service and Kit was very visible checking all the tables,  the staff clearly worked well in their teams and many guests have commented that they were all served on their table all together at the same time.  This brings me to the staff , they are a real credit to your business. As mentioned on the evening please could you let me know the number of staff you had working on the day.   If its ok with you and you are around this week I would like to pop in for a few minutes one day after work perhaps.  On Vicki and Josh's behalf they were so very delighted ... I dont think  they ever imagined it would be like that.  The memory of the day will stay with us a long long time.  You must obviously realise that we would not hesitate, for one moment, to come back to Vanilla again.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for everything that you did for us on our wedding day at Farbridge. The food was every bit as delicious as we knew it would be – the banana tart was a particular hit. The quality and speed of the service was so impressive. We really appreciated you Sally advising and reassuring us every step of the way from the first meeting to the big day itself and we are so grateful to you for making everything go smoothly. You all worked so hard and we would not hesitate to recommend you.

Just a quick note to say a Big Thankyou to you and your team for Saturday, everyone commented on how amazing the food& how professional the staff were. Victoria & Marcus have now left for the honeymoon & will write to you more formally upon their return.
