Vanilla Catering & Events

March Madness

March is almost upon us, soon the clocks will spring forward, it will be light in the morning but still dark when we finish our events. We know it’s the height of summer when we finish work in the early hours and dawn is breaking  but we are still some way off this.

This month we see Dean and Louise, Tori and Niall, Pauline and Greg, Eve and Joe, Jackie and Adam and Michael and Hannah get married. It’s also the month when we cater for Fiona’s party and a large corporate banquet at Winchester Guildhall , so no time to be getting bored.

The year has started well and we have had lots of nice comments from our happy couples a few of which are below:

Dear Sally and team

Thank you all for the incredibly efficient, professional and scrumptious job at our wedding at Farbridge. You and your staff were excellent from the tasting through to disposal of the last empty bottle!!! The food was gorgeous, and many compliments on all aspects of the catering were made. The tables worked brilliantly and looked simply stunning so thank you for all your efforts and will highly recommend you to anyone who asks.

Sally and the Vanilla team

We just wanted to extend a massive thankyou to yourself and the team for helping us have the most fantastic wedding day. Kavian and I were so very impressed by the professionalism decorum and ‘can do’ attitude that you exhibited all day. Especially your willingness to go the extra mile when the candles burnt out was hugely appreciated. We would recommend you to anyone. Since the day, whenever we have been somewhere with bad service , we have coined a new phrase- ‘they need a sally’

Here at Vanilla HQ the weight loss challenge continues with Emily joining the game. As we would expect from her, Emily is now winning hands good to see she is keeping the ladies in the winning streak.

The training is nearly over for Kit and I to walk the South Downs way all we have to do now is walk it, Training in the new Forest has been fabulous, our favorite pub is the Royal Oak in Fritham, lots of yummy local produce and their delicious ham and barley broth soup is just what you need after a four hour hike, as to our favorite walk … not sure maybe we need to go back for one more bowl of soup !

This week head off to London to Hotelolympia with our head chef Lee to check out all the new gadgets currently around for the hospitality industry, I know Lee will be like a child in a sweet shop. I will report back next week no doubt with a list of new goodies we have purchased.

March also see the arrival of a new van to add to the fleet, Thanks to Gemma for naming him Walter !

March is also Mothers day and St Paddy’s day so if you need any help with catering for these events please don’t hesitate to contact us, also for all those brides brave enough to propose to their loved ones  at the end  of this month , if you want Vanilla to cater for you wedding you need to book us early so don’t delay.

Don’t forget For every guest at you wedding party or event we will donate 20p to the EllenMacarthur Trust ( so we hope that a happy occasion such as a wedding or party will bring a little happiness for young people aged between 8-24 by allowing them to sail to help them regain their confidence, on their way to recovery from cancer, leukaemia and other serious illness.
