Our Environmental Policy

Vanilla Catering and Events are committed to reducing our Carbon Footprint and reducing waste.

Our Food

Where possible we use local Hampshire suppliers and we are proud to be a member of  Hampshire Fare (www.hampshirefare.co.uk)

Our meat is supplied to Farm assured Standards and we only use fish from sustainable sources. We never use GM foods

Every year in the UK we throw away £12 billion worth of food which could have been eaten. Vanilla  is proud to support  love food hate waste which is a campaign from WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) www.lovefoodhatewaste.com

Recycling

We have recycling bins for all our plastic, cardboard and bottles.Our toner cartridges are recycled.  All our glass bottles from events are brought back and recycled.

Our Transport

We encourage our staff to cycle to work and Sally cycles whenever she can even if it means arriving in the office  looking slightly dishevelled every day !

Our new state of the art Kitchen operates to the highest legislative standards in terms of emissions

Giving Something Back

As a team here at Vanilla, we are very conscious of how lucky we are to live in a great area of the South Coast of England, with everything on tap. As keen long distance sailors, one issue that has highlighted itself to us, is how precious a commodity fresh water is.

Therefore, we have taken the steps to give a little back and are working with a charity Frank Water Project to donate 20p per cover from each of our weddings this year, in the hope that a happy event in the UK will spread a little happiness elsewhere in the world!
