CTC Aviation hosts a grand ball to mark the graduation of pilots completing their training before being placed with their airline partners. Over the years, as the business has flourished, the numbers of graduates and their guests have increased significantly. From small beginnings with approximately 120 people attending the graduation ball, numbers have grown significantly and this year over 500 guests were hosted for a daytime ceremony and hot/cold canapé bowl lunch and 280 for a full sit-down meal and ball the same evening. This was followed by a further anniversary ball for staff (another 280 guests) two nights later to mark the company’s 25th anniversary.
ON THE DAY
Organisation is key to running a successful event and handling the celebrations for CTC is a keen test of our managerial skills. The day is a long one, starting before 7am and finishing after 1am the following morning. This necessitates the use of multiple teams with different skill-sets who, together with the equipment, food, and beverage, need to be in the right place at the right time to deliver the goods and services the company is expecting from us. No event of this kind runs without behind-the-scenes dramas. It is though testament to our professionalism that they are overcome without impacting the event or troubling the client. Consequently, both days proved a great success and this is reflected in the testimonial.
