The end of the decade....
So the close of 2019 marks the end of the decade and the 15th year of trading for Vanilla. So from our conception as a small yacht charter caterer we now cater for events well in excess of 10000 covers. Of course we still cater for small as well large numbers but my point is we are capable of such things which we never though were possible.
2019 has been a great year for Vanilla. Lee butler our executive head chef has now been with us for 9 years now and we have no intention of letting him go ! Lee and his talented brigade have developed Vanilla into an award winning company producing fantastic food at weddings, corporate events, product launches and parties. We still use as much local produce as possible so from eggs to oils, meat to cheese we work with a fantastic list of local suppliers, have a look at our local produce maps for further details
This year saw us open another cafe-kitchen in Salisbury called the Rifleman’s table which is situated in cathedral close adjacent to the Rifleman’s museum. It is open daily serving breakfast and lunch and available to hire in the evening for canape parties or private dinning. Bespoke menus can be created for you and your guests in this fantastic setting.
Next year will see the opening of the Mariners table, watch this space for more details on this opening in the spring and the autumn will be the turn of another "Table" details of which are top secret at the moment as we are currently negotiating this.
Our Venue the Port house, in Port Solent, has now been open 4 years and is available to hire for Xmas parties, exhibitions, weddings and sailing regattas we have even been hired as a poling station. The Port House is dog friendly, child friendly, open 7 days a week and we welcome everyone . Our Sunday Roasts are not to be missed, come in hungry though as they are no for the faint hearted .
So another year means another charity. For every dinner we cater for we donate 0.35p per person to our nominated charity. Our very first charity was Frank water and we have supported Wessex Breast Cancer trust, Ellen MacArthur Trust And Surfers Against sewage to name a few. To be considered for our charity of the year please email Sally Pickles ( Sally@vanillcatering.co.uk)
So all that is left to say is Happy New Year and we look forward to another successful decade with Vanilla Catering, The Port House and The Table Collection exciting times ahead.
Cheers, Prost, Sante, Kanpai to 2020 from
Sally, Team Vanilla, Porthouse and Table collection.
